Bitter Leaf shortlisted for the Commonwealth Writers' Prize

Great news! Bitter Leaf by Chioma Okereke has been shortlisted for the Commonwealth Writers' Prize 2011, Africa Best First Book.
Bitter Leaf is a richly textured, poetic and evocatively imagined tale about love and loss, parental and filial bonds, and everything in between that makes life bittersweet.
A wonderful debut so do read it if you haven't already and keep your fingers crossed for the 3rd of March when the winner will be announced.
