Virago Book Club – First Look

We're pretty sure that Virago readers – and Virago Book Club members in particular – are an enthusiastic, articulate and opinionated bunch. So here's the chance to prove it (and have a chance to read our Book Club selections before anyone else does…)

We're looking to recruit a team of UK-based reviewers to read each book club choice, and then let other VBC members know what you though of it by writing us a short review (or long if you wish!), which will then be posted on Viragobooks.net and the forum for others to read and comment on.

All you have to do to sign up to Virago First Look is fill in the form below, and let us know in 50 words why you'd like to join our panel of reviewers.

If you're selected as a reviewer for any of the chose Virago Book Club titles, we'll send you a copy of the that title for you to read and review – please ensure that you have supplied us with your correct full address. Then email us your review to virago.press@littlebrown.co.uk, and we'll feature each one that we receive. Please note though that any reviews which feature inflammatory comments (such as personal abuse or criticism, or anything libellous ) may well be edited before posting, or not featured at all. So try to keep them constructive!

Update: We now have over 100 reviewers signed up for First Look! So from now on (in the interests of fairness), the 50 review copies will be sent out in the first case to anyone who has submitted a review previously, and then to names chosen at random from the rest of the list. We will be reviewing this process on an ongoing basis to ensure that everyone gets a chance to review, so please check this page regularly for further updates.
