Terms & Conditions: Margaret Atwood

Please read the following Terms and Conditions carefully.

1. This is competition for one top cash prize of £100 and Margaret Atwood backlist for a winning alternative title and quote for The Year of the Flood. It must be the writer's original work.
2. The alternative book title and quote will not be used for an actual Margaret Atwood publication, and is for competition purposes only.
3. Entrants must enter their title and a quote (quote to be no more than 140 characters) via the competition entry form at www.viragobooks.net/atwood-publisher-for-a-day.
4. Entrants may see their entries appear on the Virago website and may be posted on Twitter, and possibly other websites. Entering this competition will be taken as your agreement that your entry can be used in this manner.
5. The winner will be selected by Little, Brown employees Lennie Goddings, Zoe Hood, and Emily Rowland from the entries received in accordance with paragraph two and three.
6. The winner will see their entry posted on the Virago website and Twitter account, and possibly other websites and Twitter accounts, and will receive £100 and the Virago backlist of Margaret Atwood titles. The rest of the shortlist will receive the Virago backlist of Margaret Atwood titles.
7. The Judges' decision is final.
8. There is no purchase necessary to enter this competition.
9. The competition opens at 12:01am BST on 29th July 2010 and closes at midnight BST on 12 August 2010. Any entries received outside these specified times and dates will not be eligible for entry into the competition.
10. Entries must be received on or before the Closing Date.
11. The competition is open to anyone aged 16 or over except employees of Little, Brown Book Group, their families, or anyone professionally connected to the competition either themselves or through their families.
12. Only one entry per person allowed. Second or subsequent entries will be disqualified. Entries will not be accepted via agents, third parties or in bulk.
13. Little, Brown Book Group is not responsible for contacting or forwarding prizes to entrants who provide unclear or incomplete information or for entries lost, misdirected, delayed or destroyed.
14. Little, Brown Book Group reserves the right to alter the prizes or cancel the competition without notice.
15. The winners will be published on the Virago website on 19th August 2010.
16. Your email address may be shared with companies within the Hachette group of companies but will not be shared with other companies outside the group.
17. Little, Brown Book Group will only use your email address, and the winners' postal addresses, in compliance with the provisions of the Data Protection Act 1998 and in accordance with our privacy policy. The emails from the entrants, and from the winners with their postal addresses (including any other record of the address), will be deleted respectively after the end on the competition and after the prizes have been posted.
18. By entering the competition each entrant agrees to be bound by these terms and conditions.
