As Virago Book Club members already know, we've just announced our first title for discussion – Linda Grant's fantastic new novel, We Had It So Good, which is published in January next year.
Beginning in the 1960s, and entwining three generations’ secrets and longings, We Had It So Good is a richly layered novel that tells many truths, from the fragility of our dreams to how little we know of our parents until it is too late.
Linda Grant is a novelist and journalist who won the Orange Prize for Fiction in 2000 and the Lettre Ulysses Prize for Literary Reportage in 2006, and was shortlisted for the Man Booker in 2008 for The Clothes on Their Backs.
