Slave – A Question of Freedom, a play based on Slave by Mende Nazer has won the Pete Postlethwaite Best New Play Award. As a result of the premiere at The Lowry in Manchester and additional generous donations from sponsors, enough money has been raised to build a 4-classroom school in Mende's village in Sudan.
