The Paris Wife by Paula McLain (feat. The Bookshop Band)
Posted by Victoria Pepe in Events and Appearances
Last Thursday the wonderful Bath independent bookshop Mr B's Emporium of Reading Delights held an event for The Paris Wife by Paula McLain. The theme of the evening was Adultery, part of a series of events entitled 'Books Behaving Badly'. The evening was a real success with lots of lively discussion about The Paris Wife, Ernest Hemingway and his first wife Hadley, as well as other famous adulters in literature. Who is your ultimate literary love rat?
The evening opened with two fantastic songs by The Bookshop Band, one of which was inspired by The Paris Wife. Thank you to them, Mr B's Emporium of Reading Delights and Owen Benson Visuals for the video below.

This looked very exciting. The book display with The Paris Wife and Book Love bunting is lovely! The Paris Wife is on my list of books I want to read.
I bought this book believing it contained two postcards (informed by review on Amazon) with pictures of Hemingway and his wife. But there were none, very disappointed. Any thoughts about this?? Lovely book though and an interesting and inspiring read about involvement with narcissistic man but brilliant/talented writer – Hemingway.
Hello Veronica, I'm sorry you were led to believe this book contained postcards of Hemingway and Hadley inside – the advance proof copies of the book did, and that must be what the Amazon reviewer had read. You'll see it is not in our description on Amazon. I'm so glad you enjoyed the novel, though.
